Top 5 Shoes for Spring

The weather is finally consistently warm this week (today is high 70’s!), and it’s an exciting reminder that spring (and more importantly, spring fashion) is finally here. One of the best parts about spring’s arrival is that “out with the old, in with the new” I (and so many others) adopt. I find myself wanting to cross things off my bucket list, travel, and especially take what I loved from the spring runway and incorporate it into my style! I think it’s safe to say I constantly get into a rut with what to wear every February, and by mid to late March I’m ready for a change!

One of the most exciting aspects about spring weather is new shoes! I can finally stow away my winter boots and take out my sandals, open-toed booties, and fun spring mules.

So for a little fashionable footwear inspiration for the season, check out my must-haves below.

1. Mules

5 words — I. am. obsessed. with. mules. It’s one of the hottest shoe trends, and they are so comfy they seriously remind me of cozy house slippers! You’ll see in this collection that the “slip-on” shoe can be worn in both a flat version for casual days or a chunky heeled variety, perfect for lunch dates.

2. Flatforms

Another fashionable yet comfortable footwear choice for spring, flatforms err on the more high-fashion side of style. A combination between flat sandals and platforms, you get a bit of height from these quasi-casual shoes, which is a nice solution for too-long maxis (and my 5’4 height)! I actually wore my flatforms here if you need a refresher!

3. Fashion Sneakers

Sneakers have been everywhere these days! These shoes got a fashion makeover on the runways, and the results are very cool. Just check out all these kicks that will make you rethink the sporty notions about sneakers, and try to tell me you don’t immediately want a pair! (The slip-ons and low-rises are great for testing the waters.)

4. Pointed Toes

Pointed toes are not just for fancy occasions! They’re such a huge trend and a lot more everyday this season. Just check out some of these pointy picks found on the runways that inspire all kinds of cute outfit combinations.

5. Fringed Heels

Don’t worry, heels haven’t been forgotten this season! For spring 2016, the trend map has a lot of playful details, including heels with fun fringe tassels. Fringe heels are much more dainty than you’d predict, as they feature lace-up strings that elongate your legs and a blush color (like the top left pair I’ve showcased) for extra feminine effect.
