A Day in Downtown Mebane

meb3My sister called me the other day with excitement in her voice. “Have you been to downtown Mebane?! It’s so cute!” A lot of people around here know of Mebane, NC and have been to the Tanger outlets (I’ve been multiple times and have gotten some great pieces, including my first designer bag)! I had no idea there was a cute, quaint little downtown with so much character — and it seems like a lot of people around here didn’t know either as everyone I’ve asked has had the same puzzled reaction. It’s really, really small (only a few blocks), but so fun to go explore nonetheless! We decided to venture out there last Thursday, and I absolutely loved all of the furniture and antique shops, local clothing stores, a friend’s oil and vinegar store (the Gourmet Grove) with hundreds of different options to try (I’m a sucker for infused oils for cooking), and one of the most beautiful coffee shops I’ve ever been in (Filament Coffee, pictured above). We ended the afternoon by driving to Down Home Garden Center & General Store, which had a lot of pretty little finds for your home, homemade jams and honey, and year-round holiday decorations.

If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by! Hoping everyone has a lovely Monday and is staying safe during all of this snow!

  1. My hometown! 🙂 I hope next time you get the chance to stop by martinos. Still one of my favorite places to walk to when I see my dad.
