5 Healthy Recipes for the New Year

healthychickensoupHearty Chicken and White Bean Soup

Happy Wednesday all! After the holidays, I’d been feeling really lethargic and tired from lack of exercise and eating poorly. It’s a familiar feeling most of us have after this time of year, and even though I did a lot better eating-wise than I usually do this time of year, they’re still not my normal eating habits or routine which still puts my body out of whack (I’m usually a pretty healthy eater). As of about a week and a half ago, I buckled down and made myself a healthy grocery list packed with veggies, lean proteins, fruit, and a few other healthy things. I found that stocking up on healthy proteins has helped a great deal (any kind of beans, white fish, salmon, chicken, turkey, nuts and seeds, quinoa, chickpeas, etc.). I’d definitely recommend keeping them in the house — they’re the perfect base/key ingredient for a lot of healthy and hearty recipes. I’ve compiled 5 different recipes to start you off if you’re overwhelmed (spaghetti squash, soups, zucchini noodles, and peppers are a few of the fun ingredients in these recipes). I’d love to hear your favorites in the comments!
