I remember sitting in my apartment in college. It was the fall of 2009, and after following my favorite go-to blogs, I was inspired to start my own. I remember setting up my camera in the corner of my room and attempting my first outfits. I had no knowledge of DSLR cameras, or any photography knowledge for that matter. I was unsure of what I wanted to do after college, and everything was a whirlwind at that time. I was a double-major and working two internships on the side already. After college, I moved to DC, and the blog was pushed aside for the time being.
I posted from time to time in DC, but not too many regarding fashion. Even though my style was what I wanted to write about the most, I didn’t believe I had the right resources available to do outfit posts. I didn’t want to impose on friends’ time or necessarily have the confidence to ask them to support me, and while they would in a heartbeat, I didn’t take the chance.
It wasn’t until the beginning of this year that I finally committed to the blog, and even though it’s been a long time coming, I’m so thankful. Because I’ve experienced so much since that day in 2009 (from Wilmington NC to DC to Raleigh), I’ve discovered so many things about myself and am happy and confident in the person I’ve become. This blog has been an incredibly fun and fulfilling creative outlet, and I’m so thankful for all of you who have been (patiently) along for the ride. I can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store, and I look forward to sharing next year’s experiences with you! Happy 2015!
