Fall Layering

I always love discovering new and creative ways to layer my favorite pieces in the fall. It’s one of my favorite seasons because it allows for more creativity with layering, especially when the change in temperature is so vast from day to night!

The cape/poncho and over-sized cardigan trends are some of my favorites because I feel like I’m wearing a warm, comfortable blanket, and because it’s over-sized I can wear a light sweater underneath for an extra layer if needed. I love offsetting the look with skinny jeans or leggings and adding fun, chunky booties for edge!

The patterns in these cardigans are what draw me in. A solid, black look is always classic, but I love switching it up from time to time and adding vibrant colors or fun patterns that excite me about getting dressed for the day. ModCloth carries a lot of these fun-patterned ponchos and cardigans that fit the bill, such as this fuschia version and this beautiful blue one to name a few!

  1. I love the look of oversized cardigans too! I have a hard time finding them for petites though, any suggestions?

I just added a few new hematite bracelets to my store and I think they would be perfect for this look you’ve created!

You can find the shop at calypteollection.com

    1. I totally get what you mean, Carol. I’m considered petite and sometimes they fall too low. I’ve sometimes had luck looking at longer sweaters in the petite section (i.e. Loft or Nordstrom) and sizing up as it provides more room without being too long. Hope this helps!
